Dr Graham Marvin is a Gold Coast-based physiotherapist, clinical educator, researcher, and strength and conditioning coach with a professional focus spanning sports injury management, complex knee rehabilitation, and athletic performance. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at Bond University, with his doctoral research focused on occupational fatigue, injury, and health in emergency first responders, building a strong foundation in applied clinical research, research methodology, and evidence-based practice. His research has resulted in multiple peer-reviewed publications examining occupational fatigue, injury epidemiology, and the health and performance of emergency first responders.
His clinical practice includes comprehensive assessment and management of acute and chronic sporting injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, and complex knee, foot, hip, and shoulder presentations. Graham has extensive experience working with strength athletes, including Strongman, Olympic weightlifting, and powerlifting, where he combines clinical assessment, high-load biomechanics, rehabilitation, and strength and conditioning principles to manage injuries and optimise performance. He has worked directly with nationally and internationally ranked athletes and provides rehabilitation and performance programming designed to bridge the gap between clinical recovery and the high physical demands of competitive strength sports. He also works closely with orthopaedic surgeons to coordinate care and uses evidence-based assessment, progressive loading, and sport-specific rehabilitation to guide athletes from injury through to full performance.
Alongside his clinical practice and research, Graham has developed substantial university teaching experience across both physiotherapy and medical programs at Bond University. He facilitates problem-based learning, teaches objective physiotherapy assessment and manual therapy, supervises cadaveric anatomy learning, and assesses OSCE performance. His combined experience in clinical practice, high-performance sport, research, and university education allows him to integrate contemporary evidence with practical clinical decision-making and performance-focused rehabilitation.
